‘Assasin’

‘Assasin’ Charcoal, oils and Aerosol on canvas. (110cm x 110cm)

This Piece was kind of an accident but i love the way it turned out.. After doing an initial drawing in Charcoal from a photo, I sprayed it with varnish and then worked it up with oils.. there was way too much colour going on and it looked like puke, so i got a little hasty and threw turps on it and rubbed back the lower part of the face.. I was surpried that the original drawing was in tact, I though the turps would have eaten the varnish and smeard the charcoal.. I felt the intense colour pallette worked in the eyes when it was an obvious focus and had been balanced by the sparse neutral pallete below… So i stuck with the direction at it ended up feeling like a ninja guy with his face obscured by a mask.. damn ninjas are cool..

signing off from SanFran.. land of beautiful women, great beer and average coffee…/ the art scene here rocks!

I gave it to Tony and David from Look Print who have acted as my patrons in a big way. thanks for all there support over the last year and half! hope you enjoy it guys!
